    One Last Kiss

Thru the years their love has grown.
His gentle touch is all she's known.
A hard working man is what she would say.
He worked for his kids and wife everyday.
She helped him thru the tough times he had.
He never knew when she felt bad.
He was a man with a heart of gold.
The memories of him is what she will hold.
In this life he will be missed.
My grandma just wanted that one last kiss.

First, I want to say my condolences to you and your grandma. Now, what a wonderful poem. So heartfelt and you protrayed the love that your grandparents had so well. Your word imagery made it so easy to see the warm and loving couple that they must have been. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I'm sorry for your loss. At first I thought you were talking about your father. You and your grandma have my condolences.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
