    our quiet blanket

clear the air for me its to thick with disgust
    and self hatred
    or if not this
    then delusional self engrandizment
give it up for lent this dross of egoism
but onward do we wage in contortions of angry lie
come my fair maidens of honor
come bath in the oil of life
come children look at those poor dead doves of peace
they are the stumbling blocks to freedom

    do you really care
have you had your fair share
is enough come to the kingdom
and has the mighty yet made its mark

    my pretty little flag waver
    my silent little hater

do you really want to clear the air
of whats become the greatest pink elephant
    nobody admits is there

the earth is a tomb for the ignorent it seems
and whats left of loves host are but caretakers of fading memories
like so many names on a war monument

in the end nothing rhymes with war
    except the silence of space

our quiet blanket of endless liberation
