Something is wrong with our world today,
It's accepted and "normal" to be gay,
Children gunned down in the prime of the life,
Leaving parents and friends with grief and strife,
Gangs kill each other while people sit and stare,
Has society lost its emotion to care?
Drugs run rampant through our daily life,
Anyone on the street can pull out a knife,
Cancer kills millions of people each and every year,
The screams of the innocent in our dreams we hear,
People proclaim "look to the sky the end is near",
While we live daily in constant fear,
People with aids in beds lay dying,
While we wait for a cure desperate, and sighing,
Guns are brought to schhol each day,
While in gutters the homeless lay,
It's a cold hard fact mankind is going down the drain,
People lives being shattered for someone else's gain,
We continue in our daily lives like nothing is wrong,
If we continue on this path our time here is not long,
Millions of babies aborted, their lives put to an end,
This baby could have been famous or maybe just a friend,
People executed by the government we trust,
A society controlled by greed and lust,
Our earth cries for help and only a few can or will hear,
We drown out the cries with liquor, drugs and beer,
We are a society that only cares about ourselves,
Our heroes long gone, put away on a shelf,
Racism abounds in our lives and is not seen as a sin,
Must we hate each other for the color of our skin?
People all over the world need to get up and take a stand,
Clean up our act and regain our land,
"To each his own" a wise man once said
In a few short years, we will all be dead.
