Pipe Dreams

Pipe Dreams

Pipe dreams peak and then they fall,

As they burst there is no one to call.

All the kings horses and all of his men,

Can’t put you back together again.

Like a sphinx you still try to rise,

Behind every door is no surprise.

And you wait and you plead and cry,

So you hear words, and words and lies.

Go out at night and you won’t be blind,

Alas, what is the difference with nothing to find.

Was the pipe dream a missing lover? One not yet found? Either way.........good stuff.

Makes one wonder what the "pipe dream" was - but it sounds like it was a friend or lover that you lost because of the "you" in the 4th line. Great little piece of work. Moses

Like the rhythm but I may be missing the dark message. Can you give me a hint?

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
