I write very traditional poems and try to keep them current. I like poems that rhyme. I find them more challenging. I look for imagery, flow, rhythm and content in poems. I find shorter poems to be more powerful and longer one's more intriguing.. It's easy to get caught up in a poem sometimes and just keep writing. I try to write in different styles as well. Try different things - rhyme schemes, patterns, word play, etc. As far as poets go, my favorites are Edwin Arlington Robinson, Edgar Alan Poe, Robert Frost, Walt Whitman and Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss and Robert Louis Stephenson. I am also an art fan, art of all kinds, but especially Norman Rockwell. I also love old movies. I am married to a wonderful woman, who is very tolerant of my idiosyncrasies. My life is good.
