Poem Commentary

From my 3rd book which will be out soon. I have been through alot lately and sometimes it got to the point where I was so confused in what was going on that my thoughts were just out of reach but my youngest brother who came so close to the end and not coming back stayed so positive and showed me me that it's ok to cry and know that it's ok to pray for tomorrow but to live for today.

pray for tomorrow

life ain't always what it seems to be

we open our eyes and wonder if it was just a dream

we get on our knees and pray each day

wishing we could get a glimpse…

to understand what it means

too many thoughts run randomly by

reaching out to catch them

but they just keep slipping away.

Tripping on our lessons

What is it they are trying to teach?

Why is that our thoughts are just out of reach

What can we do but live our lives the best we can

What can we do but pray for tomorrow...

and know we lived for today.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
