    Rabies

Last year I was forced to shoot my Great Dane.
Killing my dog has brought about a great deal of pain.
Before he got the rabies, he was friendly and had a lot of vigor.
My heart shriveled up in my chest when I pulled the trigger.
I feel especially bad because I was too cheap to pay for a rabies shot.
Because of my irresponsibility and stinginess, I sure am hurting a lot.
If you own a pet, please consider what you may have to lose.
Please get your pet his or her shots or you may wind up in my shoes.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
