    Rainbow I Am

    The colors that are me
    stretch across my lively sky
And it seems they have no importance to him
    for he is color blind

The discomfort that his arrogance brings
    creeps in through my clouds
I've never longed to see them gray
    or empty and devoured

And so I stretched into a pond
an attempt to present a bridge
    A guide to understanding
    the riches I held within

    Cleverly he climbed my back
and slid down to the pot
That stood at the base of the colors I form
    just beyond the rocks

I watched him play with all my gold
    and withdrew across the way
And by the time I reached my pot
    the thief had run away

That day I made a promise
in the warmth of the sun above me
That I'd never again stretch my colors any further
than the calm waters that lie below me

Very clever, both the poem and the resolve at the end. I would have given it a 10 except at the end it did not flow as well with the repetition of me for rhyme. Perhaps you could say the same thing in an even more powerful way if you changed it. Apart from that, perfect.

COLORFUL YOU ARE INDEED. I LEFT THE GOLD, FOR A THIEF I AM NOT. KEEP COLORING.

I enjoyed the imagery and the plays on colors. Lovely.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
