    Sandman

In the deep dark winter I go back there
Toes smitten with frostbite, breath heavy smoke
Child of the north, icicles in my hair
Buried in time's heavy relentless cloak

Harvest moon rising over burning trees
Yellow eyes peering through silent cat tails
I hear something scattering in the leaves
And laugh hysterically with large bursting wails

I know it stalks me as I move along
Droplets are falling from my melting hair
Soft willows swaying in gentle timeless song
The sea's musty scent dancing through the air

He lives at the top of an endless tower
That floats on a midnight ocean's perfume
He calls me his Dead December Flower
And together we dance in the rising gloom

We dance to the octaves of the baying wolves
We dance through rapids of raging rivers
Our bare feet tromping like gay horses' hooves
We dance and dance till my legs start to quiver

Now is the reign of the Silent Sandman
Wheels whistling through shiny hospital halls
Reaching in vain for mother's sturdy hand
Lemony air, Sandman becoming too tall

We dance in a garden's flowing abyss
I am the belle of this forgotten ball
Doctors giving a gentle Sandman kiss
I am drawn through December to his warm call

The Sandman poem is very vivid-I like it alot. ken parme
