    Saturday Night

We rekindled on a Saturday night

Twelve years of preparation for what will be the beginning of our lives…

Eyes meeting as if for the very first time…magnetic attraction wandering thoughts ran loose in my mind

Reconnection seemed too easy to me…making me ask is this really meant to be

Conversation stimulating my intellect…..reminiscing on the day we first met

Thoughts of the hug we just shared…bliss to the bond that took place in soul, mind and heart…making it impossible for anything or anyone to pull it apart

Minutes became hours while laughing on yester years…I still hear your sexy voice echoing in my ears

Hoping you would ask for another hug, or even a kiss…and when you did all I could say was…yes

A hug so tight…I could feel every part of you, and instantly we became one instead of two

Eyes conversing and saying things our mouths would never say…like man do I have to let you go…why not just stay

Lips met…tongues twisted…as if nothing else existed

You and I became us…and us became we…and we became one…as love began to wrap around

Reminiscing on a lost crush found

Beautifully put. Nice flow and meaning.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
