Say Something!

Say Something!

I love you from the distance,

I know every part of your body

And in my dreams I’ve held you close.

I hear your laughter from within

And feel your smile every time we meet.

The fear of the unknown is too strong –

My heart breaks prematurely everyday

When i imagine the distance between us.

Within an arm’s reach

But miles away nonetheless.

Why won’t you say it?

Why won’t we admit it?

These emotions too strong and beyond us,

This love so raw we can taste it.

The moisture of your breath on my face

When you said you love me.

Oh! I just remembered,

It was but a dream.

How long will this take?

I can’t play the waiting game!

Say something already!

Anything!

If you can’t make me love you more,

Say something to make me hate you.

Relieve me of this pain

That our love has come to be.

Tomorrow is your last chance.

Touch me, kiss me – just love me

Or say something,

Anything!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
