    Poem Commentary

This poem, I wrote from my thoughts of our purpose in life, in that at some point, we all Question God, ponder Evolution, Often we become lost trying to differentiate between the two, when in fact both fit like hand and glove, if only we allow are self to believe

    SEARCH FOR REASON

Life has many paths, many twists and turns

Hidden within each are lessons for each to learn

Sometimes, to overstand, to some we must return

To become “whole” at some point something we all yearn

Many moments spent in attempts to define

Our place, our purpose, why some seem to shine

Other times, we race so fast often missing signs

Pace, erasing keys to how humanity and universe aligns

Faith, becomes distorted, confusion of hearts and minds

Disguising, how God and evolution are in fact combined

Believing humanity advances, reality, falling further behind

The race to develop material, leaving spiritual resigned

Displacing our own energies, rendering our spirit blind

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
