    Send Me A Sign

    She stood on the cliff
Looking out at the angry sea
As the rain poured down around her
    Her eyes full of tears
She had lost her love that day...

    He lay,
    Dying in her arms
He was her pillar of strength
    Her life
    Now...
    He was gone.
    He had protected her
As he had sworn to do
    He had taken the bullet
    Ment for her!
    Doing so,
    Cost him his life
He said he would be alright,
And asked if it was okay if he went
    Tears streaming down her face,
She said, "Yes, but send me a sign, to know you're alright."
    He whispered, "Yes, Love...The cliff."
    As his eyes closed...
    One last time...

    So she waited
In the rain at their special place
    She looked at the clouds
    And saw a silver glow
    She smiled through her tears
    Cause at that moment
    She knew...
    He was alright...

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
