As If Today Were Your Last

    Everyday, people say
    I wish I had
    Or if only...
    Many leave this world
With those regrets in their hearts

If only I'd sang that song,
If only I'd danced that dance.
If only I'd let him be my friend
I wish I'd let my heart and my mind guide me
I wish I'd said I love you one more time.

I wish I'd had the courage to show the world the TRUE me.
I wish I'd stolen and heart and given mine in return.
If only I'd helped one person
If only I'd my memory with those who would keep me alive in their hearts
If only I'd left an imprint in this world

    Day by day
    Week by week
    Our wishes,
    And If onlys
    Fade...

    And we do nothing
    We don't even try
    So we live...
    and die...
    With regrets

    So dance that dance
    Sing that song
Tell those you love how you feel
    Take that chance...
    Live those dreams

    Don't live to regret yesterday...
    Live as if...
    ...there were...
    ..no...Tomorrow....

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
