Sense

Five Senses and surely one more,
T'is all I'm given, this world to explore.
Each sense has its own God given limit,
Which I faithfully use to mutual benefit.
My eyes see a little farther than you think.
My ears can hear the sublte and distinct.
My taste is tuned for nuance and discretion.
My skin can feel your anger and affection.
My nose can smell the rose and the thorn,
Yet, there is one more with which I was born.
Tuned not the world so common to most,
But to hearts in tune with their Ghost,
Souls who harnonize the world they know,
Who strum its chords, to make it flow,
So others can hear the finer notes,
Feel the hope that lets them float,
On gentle breezes, laden with scent,
Revealing the precious unfolding event,
Of roses blooming before their eyes,
Such beauty to them was no surprise.
Five senses have I, and certainly one more,
The sense to know there's a soul at our core.

Parks, this is a lovely piece to read. It flows so smoothly and with finesse. It is a 10 from me!

Thanks, it was inspired by a communications teacher who was terrific.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
