Simple Truths
The seas rise
the rivers flow
the sun sets
this we all know.
For it is
the way of things
it works in cycles
renewal it brings.
As the earth turns
and time goes by
everything grows
and all things die.
For perish we must
all living things
but life everlasting
God will bring.
We all pray
for life after death
to know there's something
after our final breath.
The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
