Something Within
They say that if you love someoneTo let them go free.
If they return then their heart is yours to keep.
I've let him go too many times to count
With a chance that fate will bring him back to me.
A friendship is all we have
This I've realized many times over
Except each time fate has played it's game
You were mine, if only for that moment
I've kept you close in my heart
With the hope that things will someday change
Having you as my friend through all these years
Has meant more to me,
Than diamonds produced from the earth itself.
You call to me because I understand you
And in a moments notice, push me away
I once told you that I loved you
To this day still you will hold my heart.
Are you going to come back again?
Or will this be the question left unanswered?
As a child your taught,
To hold things close and dear
When you are pushed away
You are then told to move on.
I've done all I can do for you my friend,
So now I must let you go.
