    Suffocation

if only he wantef her like she wanted him
if only she didnt have to go to school
if only her brother didnt move away
if only her mom kept her promises
if only her father wasnt upset with her
if only them others understood her
if only she had a real friend
then she might be awaken from her shell
to see the beauty she once saw
to be able to love and to laugh
to enjoy the world and what it holds
    but she doesnt
she is a puppet on this earth
another stepping stone to no where
    to another pointless life
    to her brothers and friends
but no one could love her because
    she forgot how to live
    how ot be human
    how to love
    how to stick out
    now she blands in miserably
and no one cares enough to help her out
out of a life she let them put her into
out of a grave she dug for herself
out of the drugs she loves and belongs to
out of a life she never loved
but happy endings are only in the movies
she left as miserable as she came
an alcohol overdose led her down to fall
she was now asleep for good with her unborn child
    of only 8 weeks
so now two lives were saved from a pointless cycle
but no one cared enough to be around

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
