    Take Your Soul

While the light shines like an old memory.

She sits there and wonders what it's like to be me.

Some have loved me others had left.

I'm still wondering what you meant.

I'm in the shallows to see what it brings.

Playing my guitar and chasing my dreams.

Im in the mountains it is a start for me.

I've been to L.A. and it's still not for me.

Back to the mountains it's where I will roam.

Maybe I'll find you or maybe alone.

It's in good doings that build my soul.

If you stay there too long it will take… your… soul.

If you stay there too long it will take… your… soul.

There's no need to sit here and complain.

Can't blame money 'cuz money ain't to blame.

Livin' off the land is part of being free.

Gonna take that trip to Tennessee.

I can't help but be who I am.

I had to lose it all to really understand.

When I think about it, it's really not that bad.

Close ones at a loss is what I don't understand.

She was an angel and she was a whore.

If you don't understand, right there is the door.

It's her good doings that gave this soul.

If you stay there too long it will take… your… soul.

If you stay there too long it will take… your… soul.

The life I'm livin' is the life I made.

    Proud to say  American made.

If you don't like the dream your in…

Open your eyes and change within.

Never been one to stay in one place.

My dream is to take me home and that I chase.

Never been on top keep falling to.

I hear the train coming, the distant whistle too.

Home is where the heart is and that's why I don't go.

Another day it passes, yet the whistle goes.

Little bit of music to build the soul.

If you stay there too long it will take… your… soul.

If you stay there too long it will take… your… soul.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
