    Tears

    Through the years,
    I'll shed many tears.
    Tears of sadness and pain;
    Crying you a river like rain.
    Tears of wanting and longing,
    I guess, for you, it was just a fling.
    But to me it was the truest love,
    Like a gift from the Heavens above.
    Just like the tears I now cry,
    I fall each time you walk by.
    Crying tears for you, I miss...
    Crying, longing for your tender kiss.
    Instead of making me cry these tears;
    Open your eyes and open your ears.
    Then you'd know without a doubt,
    That you're all I think about.
    I want kissing you to fill my years,
    But now they'll just be filled with tears.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
