    THANK YOU

    THANK YOU
Thank you for being there when I was down
Thank you for lifting me when I hit the ground
You still cared even though I hurt you
You still smiled even after I left you

I can’t say that I am perfectly okay
I can’t say that I will get there one day
But I will always remember the night
When I called it quits and shut off the light

Done, tired, feeling guilty and sorry
Ten days and still the same old story
You taught me it is possible to forgive
You showed me it’s better to go on and live

Write and write and keep writing you said
When you are up and running or laying in bed
That will get you through another day
Writing and forgiving, believe what I say

You also said that you could not return
You wish you could but it was now your turn
To find happiness, to find you happy way
You said you were here but you could not stay

No tears, no fears, no sadness, no more
I got to go and you walked out the door
Thank for forgiving me, for believing in me
Thank you for leaving and for not hating me

Thank you for being there when I had fallen down
Thank you for picking me up without making a sound
I hope one day I will be able to love like you loved
but if I don’t, then know that you will always be loved

    Tears will eventually stop
They will run dry, not a drop
That day I will still remember your heart
The kind heart I broke and tore apart

I will be okay as long as you are happy
I will live next day as long as you are alright
I will lie in bed, no longer feeling crappy
Thank you for allowing me to sleep at night

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
