    The Alphabet of Friendship

Amid my lonely nights and roaming thoughts
Beyond the scope of Space and scope of Time
Can I but think of you, my dearest friend
Delighted by my thought and lines of rhyme?

Exalted by the days we were so close
    Facing together sadness and delight
Giving and sharing, selfless when we did
Helping each other will all zeal and might

Many a time we sat to talk and joke
News of the World was the theme of debate
On every theme you proved so well informed
Perhaps we disagreed on Cause and Fate

Quiet is the night, the skies are clear
Remembrance carries me to good old days
Sitting alone, I sniff the scents of Spring
Those bring the Past to me in vivid ways

Untold my story, I'am filled with remorse
Vanishing days were too precious to lose!
Wishing they would return is but a dream
Xanadu is not within one's reach to chose

Yes, my dear friend, I do miss you so much
Zealous I am when friendship is the theme
Life with no friendship is an arid world
Void of true meaning and a worthy dream

I really like this.......I had started a poem like this but didn't finish. I was finding it hard to use each letter of the alphabet and make sense!!! You succeeded!! Good job.

I am sure your innovation and sublimation can create a superior work. I love to read you and comment on your poems.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
