The Breakup

The Breakup

Sick of crying
Tired of trying
Outside I'm smiling
But inside I'm dying

Thinking of you
Around the clock
Wishing you were here
To be my depression block

Loving no other
As time goes on
Tears in my eyes
From dusk till dawn

Missing you dearly
Wanting to see you
To hold you close
To make it through

Depression taking over
Sadness engulfing me
Sad music in my ears
You in my memory

Come back to me please
Talk to me or something
Just to let me know
If this meant anything

This poem is very good. I think it is real and full of heartbreak. I love it when you say, "wishing you were here to be my depression block." It is very true, many think that if their lost love would just come back, it would end their sadness.

that's pretty much exactly how i felt

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
