    The Clock

    Steadily watching the clock

I wish my heart would stop

    Pumping my blood so blue

    Filling my head with you

The minutes go by like hours

A love that once was ours

    It’s faded in the past

    It’s broken just like glass

    It’s never been my friend

From the beginning to the end

For when our love was new

    The hours they just flew

Now that our love has soured

    And wilted like the flowers

I bought for you that day

    Before you came to stay

    The only time it been

    Any kind of friend

Is when I made love to you

    The clock became subdued

This is filled with emotions on many levels. Your title is perfect and sums up how time can vanish somethings to barely a memory, and others linger on with no end in sight. Well done.

Lost love is one of a poets best friends we create some of our best masterpieces from the loss of a love. Great poem and hang in there the heart is a strong muscle it mends and we go on to explore new journey's in which to write about. Another great poem, keep writing and posting for us to share.

Thank You Jody! my new friend!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
