    The Colors of My Life

My life is filled with many colors
As many as the eye can see
Each one speaks of a different feeling
I have deep down inside of me
Yellow speaks of the happiness I feel
Like a child whose young and carefree
Green flashes the biggest mistake ever
As I picture the soldier and a shattered dream
Blue tends to show itself more than I would like
Leaving me lost, confused, and unwanted
Orange reminds me of Halloween night
Instantly I feel as if I'm being haunted
Red seems to linger too much these days
Angry at all the stupid things I've done
Brown tells me my hearts been neglected
    Left forgotten in the sun
Black comes in at my darkest hour
Creeping like the little creatures of the night
But one day soon my colors will be defeated
By the One whose surrounded be light
He will come in suddenly and take hold of me
Easing all my pain, anger, and fright
On that triumphant day my colors will blend
    And eternally will be white...

Thank you again for your comment! I guess being a preschool teacher helped in describing the colors of my life!lol

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
