    Poem Commentary

My first real poem, one of my favorites and probably one of my most organized poems (I usually like giving my poems a rigid feel rather then a smooth feel, gives it more character in my opinion. it's a contradiction I know).

    The Cycle

    I have lived life
I have seen life pass by
I wait for life to start again

    I have lived life
I have felt the great joy's of love
The warmth has kept a smile on my face
To wake up early to see her soon
    I have lived life

I have seen life pass by
Like an attack of a great storm in it's might
A sudden goodbye that no one could have seen
The world turns into a long narrow hallway with no end
The air is sucked out of your chest
Your heart fall's to the ground like broken glass,
lost forever in the cold hole of shattered steel
I have seen life pass by

I wait for life to start again
Like a child who's been abandon,
    drenched in sorrow and tears
    I wait patiently
    For the blizzard always dissipates
I wait for life to start again

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
