The Empty One No More

_The trials in life are many_
_Be true to those you love; if any_

As a young boy I walked through fields of green and gold
Thinking how wonderful it was not to be old
As an adolescent I was jealous of the teens
Wanting to be like them, see what they've seen
As I reached puberty my thoughts were mixed
Joy and depression, will life ever be fixed?
As a teen my mind turned to girls
I would have them all, through them I whirl
In my twenties I partied all night
Until I fell in love and saw the light
In my thirties I was a broken man
Love has left, will I love again?
At thirty-six the dream comes true
My darling Jessi, one makes two
At thirty-eight my daughter is born
From my mind all doubts are torn
Now at forty-two life feels complete
Thank you God, for love so sweet

Nice transitions through each growth level, easy to follow. Nice to see it turn in a favorable way for you.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
