    The Franklins

    Who owns the mountain
    neither you nor me
    it's peaks reach up
    for all to see -
    Nobody owns a mountain.

    Who owns the mountain
    neither you nor I
    its summit salutes
    the stars in the sky
    nobody owns a mountain.

    Who owns the mountain
    neither me, nor you
    its crowns are framed
    with the sky so blue
    nobody owns a mountain.

    Who owns the mountain
    a developer now
    they're blasting and bulldozing
    and leveling - Oh how
    can anyone mar a mountain?

Ooh, I love this one too! I love how you say that no one can own such beauty, but what I've found that if people can't have the beauty themselves, they destroy it.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
