    THE GREAT NEED

    Water is not watery enough
    To assuage this thrilling thirst
    Nor spirits spirituous enough
    To lighten this heavy heart
But when you slobber my lips enough
This thirst will make its exit in haste

    What liquor do I crave
To earn a name worse than 'sot'?
What wine will make me a drunkard worse than Lot
Only your heart; when it sets to requite
My love, fuddling me--but mainly in love.

Wow, you have a way with words. I had to look a couple of them up for clarity... didn't know "spirituous" was a real word ;-) I thought you meant something else. Anyway, this was well thought out and very well written.

this was a well written art you drew for me basically

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
