The Light of Hope

Poetry In Memory Of James McKenzie Return to Memorial Post Condolences

The Light of Hope
by JTMHarding
"The Light of Hope"
In Memory of: James Lynn McKenzie

Through frozen clouds of memory,
alas we shall prepare.
Within our deep and dream-filled sleep,
the painful lives we bear.

The Light of Hope shall guide me;
through such frozen clouds of gray.
all dreams of bliss will hide amiss,
the message we relay.

Until new clouds have filled the skies
with dreams that we have sought
The Light of Hope will send our souls,
a new life forth is taught.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
