The Light

The Light

Each day promises a new light
For only sorrows come at night
In the Darkness
We are afright
 morning light
Sunshine brightens our hearts
Darkness falls
And midnight comes
To bequeath us
Of our sight
To my delight
With all my might
I try to see light in the night
But none came
Am I blind
Never mind
There are more hours
Of light for after
Darkness comes the light
Gone are our sorrows in the light....

I liked this and can relate to the hours that drag in the night...it was well rounded and dripping from thought...very nice...write on....jeff

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
