    The Light

There's a part of me that no one can see
Not because I hide it or am being sneaky
Sometimes I wonder if everybody has one
And if that's the case where does it come from?
Now that's a question that could be debated
My thought is that my Father made it
Not my father on earth but my Father above
He's given me grace, salvation and love
Because I'm his child His light shines in me
He forgives me of my sins and sets my soul free
Maybe this part is called the Holy Spirit
All of I know for sure is that I'm blessed to feel it
I feel it in my heart, my soul and my mind
My holy spirit is ever present
It's with me at all times
I truly believe it draws people to me
They feel the warmth of my light shining
    Ever present and ever glowing
The happiness it brings is ever showing
I'm so grateful to have this light inside
Without it my soul would truly die
There's a part of me that no one can see
I need it always it helps to guide me
It leads me through darkness sometimes brought by night
Oh Father in Heaven please never take away my light

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
