The mirrors in my mind
I look at the mirrors in my mind
As I reflect on memories past
The wrong and right decisions made
The hurt the pain in time all fade
The tears that fell from my eyes
The son I thought I had
The prison I was going to make home
The people that i made sad
The babies I did have
The little toes on my first
The baby blues from my last
The hurt when I left them
The pain still last
The plans I wanted for them
The dreams I had planned
All ended For a one night stand
People wounder how I made it through
How I coped with the pain
I think a country song explained it best
The older I get
The more and more truth I find
In those words written in red
Now when I look at those mirrors in the head
I feel relief
For the man that wrote in red
Forgave me and took all my grief
As I reflect on memories past
The wrong and right decisions made
The hurt the pain in time all fade
The tears that fell from my eyes
The son I thought I had
The prison I was going to make home
The people that i made sad
The babies I did have
The little toes on my first
The baby blues from my last
The hurt when I left them
The pain still last
The plans I wanted for them
The dreams I had planned
All ended For a one night stand
People wounder how I made it through
How I coped with the pain
I think a country song explained it best
The older I get
The more and more truth I find
In those words written in red
Now when I look at those mirrors in the head
I feel relief
For the man that wrote in red
Forgave me and took all my grief
