Poem Commentary

(some people want to know what inspires me so I will try to fill the commentary section out from now on.)

I was reading mcross's "lets go to subway" and it inspired me to write my own little lovers triangle poem. This is the result.

The Other Guy

I was at that church,
Invitation wanting,
Ability to let go lacking.
Figured I'd come in ,
Sit for a while.
Then I saw him.
The guy standing in my place.
A smile on his face,
I tried so hard to hide my eyes.

I imagined this moment,
Inside of my head,
Giving reasons
These two should not be wed.
Except it was him in this pew
Watching tears he would spew
As he kissed my bride goodbye.
Now it is me they see,
Sitting here as I cry,
The loser -the other guy.

Real rhymic and surreal. A well painted picture. Good tone!

Thank you for your comment. I enjoy honesty.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
