THE PARENT

As I watch them grow I grow and my love grows.

When they're sad I'm sad.

I teach them and they teach me.

I try to be gentle with my actions and words.

But Lord knows it's hard.

For we are all his children.

We have to show them how to express love, anger and fear.

For they will grow up and have to face the world.

So we teach them all we know and listen just as well.

Tho they'll never be perfect, they'll know right from wrong.

Most importantly they'll know they can always count on you the parent.

Wow... This is beautifully written. I am also a mother and it touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye more than you know... Simply wonderful.

thank u :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
