    The Plant

    I am a plant.

    I need watered and nourished,

    In order to survive.

    I have gone for weeks without any water,

    But the occasional sprinkle.

    Not enough to sustain me.

    I sit alone in the window sill.

    The sun warms me,

    But also steals my nourishment,

    That I get so little of.

    At night, when it is cold;

    I have nothing to warm me;

    Nothing to shield me from the chill

    From the outside.

    My limbs are becoming weak

    And beginning to wither.

    I am unable to keep my leaves up.

    I see people all around me;

    Laughing, talking, loving, warming;

    But still I sit in my lone corner

    On the window sill.

    First of all, thank you for reading it. Second of all, thank you for understanding it and lastly, thank you most of all for your concern. I appreciate it.

    Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
