    The Pumpkin Patch

On a farm way out West Mr. McVee’s garden is full of pests.

What do I do? He cried, the crow’s ate my corn and all others died.

Visitor’s came it was his neighbors three,

Bobby, Sara and their cat Fee.

Sara asked. Why do you cry Mr. McVee?

It’s my garden it’s all a mess, Crow’s, they give me no rest.

    Plant Pumpkins! Bobby hollered,

They're to big for crows to swallow.

The garden looked so mellow for the Pumpkins Patch is turning yellow.

The Pumpkins grew bigger & bigger each day,

Will be ready for Thanksgiving Day.

Then one night by the light of the moon ,

the Pumpkins stood up & started to croon.

Fellow Pumpkins let’s run away ere November Day,

Or a table we will lay!.

Morning dawns, when Mr. Mc Vee did see all his Pumpkins in a "V".

Neighbors three and Mr. Mc Vee too ran after the Pumpkins as the wind blew.

With hoe & stick they tried to stop the Pumpkins fitful trick.

The Pumpkins ran with four in chase ,

Fee scats ahead to set the pace.

Why do they run? Mr.McVee shouts. Stop! Stop! Stop! I say,

While Bobby & Sara close at bay.

The Pumpkins continued. It really looked grim as they all peer behind with

    big fat grins.

When , brick , wood, tangles & snarls ended with moans of plea!!.

On a table the Pumpkins did lay, On this

    Thanksgiving Day

    The End
