    The Sea

    The waves crash before me
    I hear the siren’s song
calling me back to my home.
    My journeys are many,
    my life has been free
    but I’ve stayed
    long away from the sea.
    The sound of the water,
the salt in the air beckon
    me back to the warmth
    I once knew.
The tide as it rises is
    pulling me there.
    Yes, I’ve stayed long
    away from the sea.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
