    The Soul You Left Behind

    The Soul You Left Behind

Damned is what I feel whenever we’re together.
Aimlessly I wander here beside you
as I watch the disappointment, heartache
and pain you deal upon any unsuspecting soul
that dares delight in your presence. Thus
damning all around you to a life of misery, despair and
    death!

    Even knowing this…
I beckon you ever nearer; gently reassuring
    you that there is no need for your loneliness and tears;
for I am still here by your side.

Feverishly, I work to assure you of my undying loyalty.
Tediously and sweetly I strain to confirm the love and
devotion you evoke in me and hope you’ll see the love I can not hide.

Forever by your side, unable to let you go, I stand as…
the soul you left behind. Here I stay with hope and love, yet fearing
you will never see what you mean to me. I guess ‘tis my destiny, as the
soul you left behind, to be damned to a life of
    Misery and Death.

just writing it helps with the lonely, depressive feelings.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
