The Storm

The Storm

Rising tides
wash away my joy.
Violent waves
beat at the edges of my mind.
Tossing and turning,
unable to bear
the unspeakable burden.
Distraught and saddened
by the ever so violent seas.
Rising tides,
drowning in my worries.

Thanks for this poem, I liked the meter, the message and the images, especially the part about waves beating at the edges of the mind. Well done ! I also used to live in lakewood, but that had nothing to do with me liking the poem, lol.

You're welcome. And I dunno about you, but I think Lakewood is the bomb.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
