    The Words You Say

You live your life day by day,
You never think about what you do and say.

Words do more damage than a punch ever will,
Bruises fade, but your words are with me still.

Your words made me believe I was worthless, ugly and weak,
You see I believed the words I heard you speak.

Now I know I'm none of the things you say,
I'm getting stronger day by day.

I have found strength I never knew I had,
Your words are still here but now they only make me mad.

When we speak, you still try to tell me what I lack,
But you see, now I have the pride it takes to fight back.

So talk your talk and do your worst, for now its all done in vain,
You see, never again will I let you cause me such pain.

Your hold on me has been broken,
Never again will I believe the words you have spoken.
