Thirsty Dry

Thirsty Dry

Thirsty Dry, I’ve been walking
    Anxious, I move faster
        Frightened, I run

Familiar Sludge, I’ve been sitting
    Disheartened, I move slower
        Discouraged, I stop

Hungry Pain, I’ve been searching
    Starved, I move deeper
        Wanting, I cry

Weeping Wonder, I’ve been waiting
    Knowing, I move better
        Accepting, I am…
                                 Thirsty Dry.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
