This be the reason

From handle bar rides - just playing outside,

Sharing blow pops, big sticks and pop rocks,

Hanging at all the hot spots and rap battles on the block,

All our homework sessions, and after school lessons

Playing video games, flying paper airplanes,

Staying up late, eating Philly cheese steaks

Slap boxing with friends, hanging out on the weekends,

Creeping out the windows and nobody knows,

Dipping and dodging and candy store robbing,

Just clowning and maxing, b-balling and dancing,

In funky fresh clothes, from braids to afros

In school track and field, cheerleading was ideal,

Having scholarship stacks, from breaking our backs

The sorority parties, drinking and being naughty,

From def on the mic cause we rock the crowd right,

Is how this came to be, the reason why we

The she became he the he became we

And for life became thee….

Fountain of glee that lives forever inside me.

Don't know the reason she became he, he became she, except to follow their own desires. Excellent write

The two became one...thank you Rhymer.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
