    Time Gone By

    Time gone by
As a young man worries he starts to smell fear,
Parts of his life start to become awfully unclear.
His dreams start to fade and his goals disappear,
It seems as if they were never really here.
He tends to do things as if he believes he should,
But then never looks back to questions the things that he could.
His goals are now where, and his dreams are now what,
It seems like these goals just fell in a rut.
It’s all part of life he tells to himself,
To be lost in one’s head is human as self.
But as he sits in his chair and looks off in the sky,
The man turns around and life has gone by.

I really liked this. You really expressed a very real human issue. I cannot wait to read more of your work!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
