I saw you a year ago you started a new relationship
I was so happy for you but then I started seeing less and less of you. You were always to busy we couldn’t do the things we use to do any more. Every time I call, you had to hang up the phone. You never told me what was going on that was your biggest mistake. I found out now while I was at your wake. It’s funny when you first met him he took you out.

He told you he loved you, you told him the same.
Then he started calling you out your name.
As soon as he got you wrapped under his wing.
Now he started doing his own thing.
The first strike to your face he said he was sorry.
But you know he loved you so, why worry?
The second strike caused your eyes to be black and blue
You always thought, “It will never happened to you ”
The third strike {I can’t see how you let it get so far.}
But the third strike came when you told him you had enough
You end up in the hospital because he was trying to be tough
You hid the lies and abuse from your family and friends
You would say you fell or you hit the door
They never knew he was knocking you down to the floor
I never understood why abusers do the things they do
But after a while you get tired of being black and blue
Right now we are sitting here reminiscing about you
He abused you so much because he thought you were creeping It hurts me when your daughter asked: “Is my mommy still sleeping? So you are gone now because you thought you were so much in love and all these memories are left behind. So many men and women are in abusive relationships and no one want to talk, then when you see it on the news you saying to yourself you should of said something. Don’t wait, if you see something say something. Abuse can be prevented
