Tormented

Alone in this dim shaded room, a grim fog covers the ground on which I stand. Semi- blinded by this shroud of darkness around me, I turn 360 to find a light, a presence other than mine, a wall nearby, but all I can see and feel is empty space. I walk and wander for answers and I find nothing. Then in the blink of an eye a lone window appears. I begin to hear a faint voice calling to me. I step closer and ask "Who's there", I hear nothing. Then the voice whispers closer as I begin to step forward I see flashes of lighting through the window pane. On the panels of the window rests my name, clashes of thunder booms. I'm startled. I as move closer to the window it slowly rises to reveal my life. Images of me as a child witnessing my unlce's death, another uncle on drugs. I feel a chill as if a gust of wind had blown. I hand lingers upward from the ground and comes toward me. Sounds of crying and screaming can be heard from the window. I turn to run but as I turn around I see a small faction of bloodied versions of me. Each corpse with different signs of and event to hint their demise...........

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
