    Listen Slowly

    listen slowly
my heart lies breathing in the dark
like a broken whisper pawned for tomorrow

    this togetherness is dying
    weakened by a shiver
a storm that releases the bottom of my dream

    everywhere is today
    my eyes slip back
    i am reaching towards land
    an island on stolen ground

    what has this become
    my wasted days and smiles
what is the reason we disappear
    we vanish into the sleep

Excellent Write.....great imagery, feels like I'm reaching and hoping for another day to reason why myself from your write...thanks for sharing!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
