Weak man
Man so weak
So selfish
For he is driven by power and greed
Power and greed
that can only lead to destruction
Man wants the power to rule
He wants the power to dominate
His greed to take what is not his
Without thinking
His Ignorance and arrogance
take over
Nothing now can justify his situation.
When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
