    what if?

What would you say if god came tonight ?
Would you welcome him in,or turn away with fright?
Would you be found pure ?as white as snow.
Or think the things you done he would not know.
Could you look him in the eye,no guilt within.
Could he find you I ask, without one little sin?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
