what you have done

what you have done

what have you taken away?
a haze of chaos as feelings disappear.
once we shared bliss,
wide-eyed and open,
but your thirst perished.
a feverish cloud of lies -
thoughts follow darkness, follow rain,
love left to die.
in a burst of bitterness,
i see you.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
